1. Information We Collect

Right now, the only personal information we collect through this site is:

• Email address: collected when you submit the waitlist form.
• Basic usage data: standard web analytics (pages visited, general location by country/region, device type), collected automatically when you visit the site.

We do not currently collect payment information, health data, or account information through this site. That will change once the ChowBuddy mobile application launches, and this policy will be updated accordingly at that time.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your email address to:

• Send you a confirmation that you have joined the waitlist
• Notify you when ChowBuddy launches on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store
• Occasionally share meaningful updates about the app's development (no spam)

We use aggregate, anonymized usage data to understand how people find and use this site so we can improve the experience.

3. Third-Party Services

We use Enlist (enlist.dev) to manage our waitlist, send confirmation emails, and track delivery. Your email address is stored securely with Enlist for this purpose. Enlist does not use your email for anything beyond delivering ChowBuddy's own waitlist communications. You can review Enlist's privacy practices at enlist.dev.

We may use standard web analytics tools to understand site traffic. These tools may use cookies or similar technologies to collect anonymized usage data.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your email address with third parties for their own marketing purposes. We share data only with service providers (such as Enlist) who help us operate the waitlist, and only for that specific purpose.

5. Data Retention

We retain your email address for as long as you remain on the waitlist, or until the app launches and you either create an account (at which point our in-app privacy policy takes over) or ask us to delete it.

6. Your Rights

You can ask us to remove your email from the waitlist at any time by emailing hello@chowbuddy.app. We will remove it within a reasonable timeframe. Depending on your location, you may have additional rights over your personal data (such as access, correction, or deletion) under applicable law: reach out to the email above with any request.

7. Children's Privacy

ChowBuddy is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the product evolves: particularly once the app itself launches and begins handling account and health-related data. We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this document when changes are made.
